25th Mycological and Botanical Exhibition
Palazzo Ottoni
Organised by Pro Loco di Matelica
The 25th Mycological and Botanical Exhibition comes to Matelica and is held in the atrium of Palazzo Ottoni, in piazza Enrico Mattei, on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November. The display brings together dozens of fungal species and as many botanical species, selected to raise awareness of the mushrooms and plants of the area. The programme opens with a lecture by mycologist Alberto Mandozzi on the ecological role of fungi and their relationship with the climate, a topic that also helps to understand how woodlands are changing. The event is promoted by the Pro Loco di Matelica and is aimed at enthusiasts, experts and families: in past editions the exhibition has brought curious visitors to the historic centre, with the set-up at the Loggia degli Ottoni.
