Macerata Opera Festival and Sferisterio Live 2026

The Arena Sferisterio in Macerata is preparing to host the 62nd edition of the Macerata Opera Festival, scheduled from July 17 to August 9, 2026. The opera program features four titles: Nabucco, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Il Trovatore, and an evening dedicated to Carmina Burana. All performances start at 9:00 PM. Before the festival, on July 14, 15, and 16, there will be previews dedicated to young audiences. The season then continues with Sferisterio Live, which until September 22 brings to the stage concerts by major Italian music names such as Il Volo, Fiorella Mannoia, Pooh, Coez, Arisa, Riccardo Cocciante, Luca Carboni, and Gianni Morandi, as well as shows by Max Angioni and Paolo Crepet.
September Fest 2026 – 32nd edition

Thirty-second edition of the September Fest, an event with food stalls offering beer, pizza, hamburgers and typical German products, accompanied by live music performances. Free admission. The event takes place from August 19 to September 6, 2026 at Pavilion 1 of the Villa Potenza Exhibition Center.

The Luna Park from Macerata returns to Villa Potenza, in the area in front of the Exhibition Centre, for a period of celebration and fun. The event takes place from 21 August to 6 September 2026, offering attractions and games for all ages.
Artemigrante – Festival degli artisti di strada

Artemigrante is the street artists' festival that will enliven the historic center of Macerata from September 3 to 6, 2026. The event, part of the Macerata Estate program, includes widespread performances, shows, and an artisan market in via Gramsci. The initiative is organized by the Cultural Association "I Benandanti Nuova Associazione" and will involve the main squares and streets of the center with street artists and installations.

Festa delle Canestrelle

Domenica 6 settembre 2026 si svolge la tradizionale "Festa delle Canestrelle", manifestazione liturgica in onore della Madonna della Misericordia, patrona della Diocesi di Macerata. Il programma prevede un corteo con carri trainati da trattori (partenza alle 17:30 da piazza Vittorio Veneto) e una processione religiosa (partenza alle 17:45 da piazza Strambi) che percorreranno corso della Repubblica, piazza della Libertà e via Don Minzoni.
40^ Stramacerata

Domenica 6 settembre 2026 si svolge la 40^ edizione della Stramacerata, gara podistica competitiva su strada organizzata dall'Associazione Polisportiva Dilettantistica ACLI Macerata. Il percorso competitivo è di 10,2 km con partenza alle ore 9:00 da via dell'Acquedotto (parcheggio presso la scuola elementare Anna Frank) e arrivo sulla stessa via. È prevista anche una passeggiata ludico-motoria di 4 km.

Claudio Baglioni - Grand Tour 'La vita è adesso' allo Sferisterio

Claudio Baglioni arrives at the Arena Sferisterio in Macerata with 'Grand Tour - La vita è adesso', in a double appointment on 8 and 9 September 2027. The concerts, which replace the 2026 dates cancelled due to the artist's health problems, are an opportunity to hear the entire 1985 album live exactly forty years after its release. On stage, an impressive ensemble of 21 musicians and choristers performs, revisiting not only the 1985 album but also the most beloved hits of Baglioni's career. The staging is specifically designed to interact with the neoclassical architecture and the unique acoustics of the Macerata arena. The tour touches 40 monumental outdoor locations across Italy, and Macerata is one of the central stages of this journey that combines music and architectural heritage.
